As per the Section 415 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) FDA requires food facilities registered with FDA to renew such registrations during the period beginning on October 1 and ending on December 31 of each even-numbered year. The end date to complete your renewal for 2016 and be active in FDA database for the years 2017-2018 is just few business days away.
Any registered firm failing to renew the registration will have an expired registration which is prohibited by FDA. The food products under an expired registration are considered as misbranded.
The owner, operator, or agent in charge of the facility, or a person authorized by one of them, can submit a facility registration renewal electronically at FDA Industry Systems.
Alternatively, you may submit your registration renewal via mail or fax using FDA Form 3537.
