mdi’s Legal Counsel for our clients

Alfred (Fred) Monte

Alfred (Fred) Monte’s nationwide legal practice concentrates on Business Risk Management, both preventative, and post-litigation.

Having litigated and tried cases to their conclusion in virtually all nationwide jurisdictions, Fred Monte is acutely aware of the direct and indirect costs to businesses for improperly planned and managed risk. The vast majority of Fred’s practice centers on businesses operating in federally regulated environments; where, he focuses on the often-conflicting obligations of regulated businesses to disclose adverse events to the regulatory agencies, along with the resulting liability exposure these disclosures cause.

Fred is actively sought out by medical device, pharmaceutical, bio the tech, and other businesses that are regulated by the FDA, to design and manage risk before, litigation has initiated, as well as what follows the litigation.

Well-versed in traditional and alternative risk management strategies; and, prior to joining FisherBroyles, Fred served as the Founding Chair, and later Co-Chair, of the Life Sciences Practice Group, at Fox Rothschild, LLP, for eleven plus years.

Fred’s risk management expertise incorporates non-traditional methods of risk management including mediation, both domestic and international arbitration, captive insurance, reinsurance, managing agent arrangements, surplus lines, and fronting arrangements.

Fred serves as panel counsel for several domestic, and international insurance carriers, and reinsurers, after custom-designing and implementing the insurance portion of their risk management strategy. Fred is frequently called upon by his partners, and outside attorneys, to provide FDA-related advice to litigation teams and risk management plans.
